Testimonials: Facilitation

“Christine trusts and respects the knowledge and intuition of the group. As a leader, she does not ‘know best,’ but instead incorporates and adapts the best of participants’ contributions. She has an unusual ability to maintain open communication and trust with all members of a fractured group while stewarding them through conflict.”
Sarah Reed, Executive Director, Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation

“Christine is a rare and unique talent. She is easily relatable and connective, while also being analytical and strategic - holding details seamlessly in the liminal space of group work. She brings grounded intuition with expert facilitation skills, which makes working with her feel a bit like magic.”
Caesaré Assad, Founder, Centipede Collective, LLC

“Christine’s facilitation style was like a masterclass in action, leaving me in awe and with big aspirations. Christine effortlessly navigated the session's flow and communicated seamlessly with her partner. If you're looking for a facilitator who can inspire, guide, and bring some fierce table tennis competition, Christine is the real deal. I can't wait to see her work her magic again!”
Ivory Cancer, Director of Branding, Storytelling, and Advocacy, Higher Purpose Co.

"Christine is an amazing facilitator and mentor. She provides high level support to partners as they develop programs. I have been continually impressed with her ability to think about our project through many different lenses. She is able to provide guidance for challenges we face as well as foresee barriers that may arise."
Bonnie Faitak, Associate Director, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

“Christine brings a substantial repertoire of tools and systematic approach to designing and facilitating group processes that address complex and intractable problems. Her specialty is bridging between people who are divided; for example, lovingly guiding white people to look at what’s hard to look at like systematic racism. Even (and especially) when she’s immersed in serious work, she helps others work from a place of joy.”
Isoke Femi, Minister and Maven of Transformative Learning at GLIDE

“Christine's expertise on program design and development was vital to building the operational structure of one of our programs at the Social Justice Learning Institute. She helped itemize our budgetary expenses, provided insight on the efficacy of our implementation ideas, and she helped draft the application and promotional material for the program. Christine masterfully guided our team towards materializing and operationalizing what was just a mere vision and aspiration within just a few months of collaboration!”
Gabriel Regalado, Youth Justice Organizer, Social Justice Learning Institute

“Christine is a highly skilled strategic partner. Her facilitation skills are superb along with her listening and ability to effectively manage a consulting assignment seamlessly. She led the strategic planning process for our 32 member team and 18 member Board of Directors. Over the 8 months of the project, she gathered information about us, listened, did external research and keep the project moving on time and on budget. The project ended with Christine leading our day long Board retreat. Our resulting Strategic Framework and Strategy Screen documents were excellent and endorsed by our Board as our 3 year strategic guide.”
Roxanne Jerde, President/CEO - Community Foundation of Sarasota County
-
“Christine helped us seamlessly layer our own organizational goals with input and ideas from across multiple stakeholders to create a cohesive vision and structure for implementation. Discernment, rolling with resistance, keeping the group on topic and moving forward, making participants feel good about their contributions, reflecting without judgment, and inviting excitement that is relevant and valuable to the group are just a few of Christine’s superpowers.”
Jenni Vaughan, Program Manager, Registered Dietitian; UAMS Community Health and Research

We hired Christine to support our strategic review process. She provided a nuanced understanding of our network’s identity, new ideas for how to enhance our network’s engagement, and importantly, cultivated a spirit of experimentation for how we approach future changes. Some of our board members were resistant to formal facilitation, but they were open to working with Christine. Based on the rapport she built with the board, she stayed on to coach the board through a difficult cultural transformation. She brought practical tools to help resolve conflicts and build a shared vision. She took great care with how she held the overall process, which I believe is essential to our organization’s future.
Sarah Reed, Executive Director, Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation

“Christine listens and learns to deliver thoughtful questions that help your team or group get to the heart of their own best decisions. Christine's ability to dig deep in learning about an individual organization is balanced by a wide perspective that elevates discussions in scope and productivity. She is truly a coach who creates the best conditions for those she works with to unearth their best.”
Mischa Kirby, Vice President of Strategy and Communications, Community Foundation of Sarasota County
Testimonials: Stakeholder Networks & Leadership Programs

“We needed to reimagine a retreat for our fellows that traditionally focused on leadership and equity. Christine and her colleague Nikki helped us to re-center the retreat’s purpose on building connections and a sense of community within the group. They stewarded a committee of alumni to create a collaborative design for the retreat that draws on the experiences of participants and generate a spirit of shared learning and mutual support. This retreat is now the best event we offer to our fellows.”
Sarah Reed, Executive Director, Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation

“Christine is able to work with emerging leaders and sit with them through the ebb and flow of their budding leadership skills. Her ability to direct folks to their North Star allows for ongoing systems process development and supports learning through a feedback loop model. Christine is able to sit through the beautiful, the painful, the emergent and support all types of individual energy into creative use. Her ability to clarify what is individual work versus what is broader systems work, allows for leaders to identify and navigate both short and long term goal setting necessary for building an organization.
Amber Smith, Executive Director, Women in Ranching

Christine transformed an intimidating task for our team into an opportunity for meaningful impact for our organizations and their communities. She helped us adjust our plans when circumstances outside of our control made changes necessary. At each stage of the project, she led us to make better decisions about the project than we would have ever made on our own. She became an indispensable member of our team and is well loved by us and our organizational partners.”
Chris Long, Principal Research Scientist, Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

“I would describe what Christine does as art. She is a weaver of connection and perspectives, of diverse methodologies and philosophical approaches. Christine can take an abstract concept, a dream on paper, and help turn it into a tangible and vibrant practice. She worked with us to weave together a social learning network that is capable of systems change – this included strategy development, curriculum design, and facilitation of convenings.”
Jenni Vaughan, Program Manager, Registered Dietitian; UAMS Community Health and Research

“Christine was essential to developing, planning, and implementing our community of practice on food insecurity. She was critical in big-picture thinking about strategy and the scope of what we could accomplish in a three-year period. She helped us build agendas, tailor meeting topics, facilitate group discussion and decision-making with twenty-three community organizations. This decision-making involved multiple working group sessions focused on specific topics and moving from ideas to an action plan. In short, this project would have been impossible without her.”
Marissa Spear, Program Evaluator, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Community Health and Research

“The opportunity to be coached by Christine over my first 2 years in a new leadership role has been a fantastic gift. She is a highly skilled listener who gives her full attention to the conversation she's in and is able to recognize and articulate patterns, themes, and opportunities for additional exploration. She has helped me recognize things I believe make me a better manager, colleague, and supervisee.”
Emily Clarke, Director of Leadership Gifts, American Friends Service Committee

“Recently Christine has moved from facilitator into a role of coaching individual staff, including managers, to help discuss challenges and unlock their potential. What makes the work so connective for me is that she knows the entire team and the organizational culture and programmatic work, so she is not operating in a vacuum. She understands the context and can give directed and focused advice and counsel, while letting individual staff tease out the issues and concerns and questions that matter to them the most!"
Jason Drucker, American Friends Service Committee, Associate Secretary General for Advancement

Christine is a brilliant coach. Rather than parachuting in and telling everyone what to do, she has become a coach to our team on how to be better at facilitation and planning complex projects involving multiple organizations. She has strengthened our team so that the benefits of working with her have spilled over into other projects that our team has begun.”
Chris Long, Principal Research Scientist, Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

“Christine was instrumental in growing our team’s capacity and leadership skills. Through individual coaching, observation, and supervised practice, I gained a portfolio of facilitation experiences and life-long skills that not only contributed to the success of our network, but will serve me throughout my career. This includes skills for working with groups from different backgrounds with different views and knowledge levels, tools for effective communication, language for embracing dissonance, and experience designing for and generating engagement. As an emerging leader and facilitator, Christine’s mentorship was invaluable.”
